Rapolano Console

The Italian town of Rapolano in the Sienese lands has been known since the ancient Romans who went there to take the thermal baths in its hot springs, and Rapolano Travertine rock was known since the ancient Etruscan times as a building material.
Rapolano Travertine is a sedimentary rock formed by the precipitation of carbonate minerals from solution in ground waters, often at the mouth of a hot spring or in a limestone cave. In the latter, it can form stalactites, stalagmites, and other speleothems.
It often has a fibrous or concentric appearance and exists in white, tan, cream-colored, and even rusty varieties that distinguish it from any other Travertine in the world.
alcarol -in collaboration with Vaselli- retrieved pieces of this eroded Travertine rock and has preserved its cavities marked by time using a transparent resin resembling the water in which these rocks lay submerged through various eras.

Leda Low Table

A physical and raw experience of Dalí’s mind. The LEDA table combines a refined structure and Dalí’s fantastical creativity. The table enhances its surroundings and utterly unique. Inspired by Salvador Dalí’s painting “Femme à tête de roses” (1935)”, or Woman with a Head of Roses, the LEDA table brings his surrealist image to life. Its solid brushed and varnished brass top is sturdy, held by a grasping hand and knee support that leads to a heeled foot. The LEDA represents Dalí’s personality in its structure and surrealist mind. Note the marble ‘egg’ that rests on the table.

With a daring approach to materials, the Menhir low table becomes a composition of colors and textures that eloquently illustrate the sculptural simplicity of Lodovico Acerbis and Giotto Stoppinòs inventions of new forms. With a Greek-like classicism, the tablès column connects the monumental marble base, matte in its contemporary version, to a tabletop newly rendered in lacquered wood or black ash wood and natural walnut, creating a striking exchange between colors and elements. Newly conceived in three different heights, the Menhir low table vaunts a more dramatically-sized round top, and now appears as a tall console as well, a concept from the original designs today in production for the first time. Tops in the Ø 80, 100, 120 cm size and 180×40 for consolles.

Wetland Relic Console

Wetland Relic _ Console is made of ABONOS OAK WOOD preserved in EXTRACLEAR RESIN, resembling the water that has kept it over millennia. The base is in BURNISHED STEEL.

The natural wood surface is not covered by resin on the section planes since alcarol always use a selective wood coating with a matt natural effect.

A wetland is an ecosystem that is saturated with water, which in some cases preserves materials such as wood for millennia.

Abonos is a Celtic name which indicates the fossil wetland wood type of some rare alluvial areas of the Alps, where minerals and water have started the semi-fossilization process of the submerged trees.

Currents bind the minerals and iron in the water with tannins in the wood, naturally hardening and colouring the wood in the process. This is clearly visible on the chromatics scale of the woodgrain changing from golden to black with always unique shades.

This wood finally comes to light like a jewel of the past, through a careful, complex work of recovery and processing.
Like the water over millennia, the alcarols transparent resin surrounds the organic shapes of this unique wood, preserving and enhancing all its preciousness and charm.

New alcarol’s invisible corner joining ensures the continuity of both material, without visible separations between horizontal and vertical planes, like a single bent piece.
